Spring Trees

I continue my rambles through spring meadows and woods, wherever they may be.

I love Klimt's landscapes passionately, though they are so different from his flamboyant portraits, shot with gold, which I love too.  I see it is almost his 150th birthday, and I will celebrate by posting many of his paintings this year—though I suspect traveling to Vienna will be out.

  1. Hi Christie,
I'm not much familiar with Klimt's landscapes painting. I feel there's something Renoir-like in the painting you posted; maybe the hazy atmosphere, or the lack of distinction in the borders of the objects...
I was in Vienna once, more than ten years ago. I saw Klimt's permanent exhibition, the largest and most complete in the world. And I didn't like Klimt back then!!
Now I love his paintings. Back then I wasn't really familiar with the powerful value of symbolism, and simply could not understand.
Thank you for sharing this. It was a nice surprise. And thank you for continuing to celebrate the Spring. It deserves it!

    1. I send you blossoming Spring thoughts, vicariously! It would be great to visit the Klimt museum (and Vienna, where I've never been).
